First stage:
" I would describe you an
idea that it is suggested by Italian WWF to the Italian schools:
it is called "An imaginary tour": this is a tour in
the garden of the five senses: of sight, hearing, smell, taste
and touch.
We can build this virtual garden like web pages in which our
students can put animals, plants of their countries (compatible
between them!) etc."
How is possible to draw this garden?
I suggest this hypothesis:
a) the gourmand's corner ( the taste!): in this corner we can
find typical fruit trees for men but also birds, and little animals
of our countries. Our students can find these plants and animals;
exchange information and then a mixed group build web pages about
this corner.
b) The fragrances' tunnel (the smell!): this corner is very difficult
to represent because I don't know a plug-in for Internet for
smell!!
Perhaps we can insert some photos of different students who smell
flowers in the web pages that explain the features of this corner
(like in the precedent point). Why tunnel? Because this corner
is in a depression inn the ground, so the fragrances are stronger.
c) The flowerbed (the sight): here we can find a lot of flowers
with your strong colours. I think it is important if our students
will draw these flowers. Our students can find these plants,
exchange information and then a mixed group builds web pages
about this corner.
d) The strange plants (the touch): in this corner we can find
plants that stimulate the touch like cactus.., or other typical
plants with strange leaves. Our students will find these plants;
with the scanner is possible take a picture of leaves or other
thin parts
.. or they can take photos
they exchange
information and then a mixed group builds web pages about this
corner.
e) The singing corner (the hearing): we can find a little wood
(a mix of our trees) in that many birds live and sing! I think
it is possible find in our towns some short examples of birds'
sing. We can build short wave files to insert in the web pages
of this corner.

Second
stage:
We can form five mixed group; every
group prepare a part of garden.
Every school prepare a research and gather text, pictures, etc.
about plants and animals of its country.
It is very very important that plants and animals have their
names in English (if possible for us and for Toru's students),
in Italian, in Japanese and their
scientific names in Latin!!
Then every group can prepare web pages with the exchange of texts,
pictures ecc.
2.The main page could have these
links: the five parts of garden; three glossaries of plants and
animals; the three schools.
In this parts students could exchange
their opinions about natural questions, environmental problems
ecc.
