The King Fisher bird has a very large head and bill. It itself is very small. Four species are known in north America. Almost all of them are bright colered. Most of them eat insects, reptiles, and other small animals, including birds. It has a ragged crest and a white color. The bird lives on small fish frogs, lizzerds, and berries. The female lays five to eight eggs at the end of her burrow that is up to 15 feet long.
